After relieving its new ‘Aria’ Business Class suite earlier this year, Cathay Pacific will feature the new cabin on its flight from Hong Kong to Beijing this week. Guests onboard will be among the first to experience the new Business Class, which will fitted on 30 of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER jets receiving a multi-million makeover.

This is the first plane to be retrofitted with the new Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy seats as part of an ongoing project that will see one plane fitted per month until 2027. This is happening at the same time that Cathay Pacific will be receiving its delivered Boeing 777-9s, which will arrive from 2026 onwards.

What to Expect

Privacy

The new Aria Business Class Suites are configured in a 1-2-1 angled layout, with 45 suites spread across two cabins. The new design evolves from the currency Cathay Pacific Business Class but offers more privacy and modern features. The high curved wall cocoons passengers in their suite and features sliding doors and privacy partitions for the middle seats - a welcome addition to the current seat.

Entertainment

Each Aria Suite includes a large 24” 4K widescreen monitor fixed into the seat rather than mounted on a movable arm; this allows the screen to be used on a gate-to-gate basis. Thanks to the new Bluetooth connectivity, guests can also connect their noise-cancelling headphones or earbuds. Other high-tech features include wireless charging and free Wi-Fi.

Cathay Pacific is elevating the Business Class experience for travellers with simple touches that make flying less of a means to an end and more of a home away from home experience, which the airline already expresses in its world-class lounges. The simple touch of commissioned artwork in each refitted Business Class cabin gives customers a different perspective and helps them feel more at home.
