Emirates has announced the first destinations to experience its newly refurbished Boeing 777s, featuring the airline’s next-generation Business Class seats. The revamped aircraft will be introduced to Geneva, Tokyo Haneda, and Brussels, offering passengers an elevated level of comfort and privacy with a new 1-2-1 seating configuration.

Business Class Features
Starting from 1 July, the first Boeing 777 will undergo a comprehensive interior refurbishment taking approximately two weeks. The new Business Class cabin will feature 38 seats in a 1-2-1 layout, ensuring aisle access for every seat and enhanced privacy. Key features include:
Fully flat beds with 20.7 inch width and 44 inch pitch
Personal 23 inch HD screens, among the largest in the industry
Touch screen seat controllers, for in-flight entertainment and seat adjustments
Personal minibar, large table, and ample storage for personal devices
Charging outlets and a small bar for mid-flight refreshments
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, highlighted the new offerings: “Our new Business Class cabin, inspired by our flagship A380, provides the best in customer comfort and privacy.
The staggered seating ensures direct aisle access for all passengers, and the upgraded features underscore our commitment to offering an exceptional value proposition”.
Future Plans
In total, 81 Boeing 777s will be refurbished as part of Emirates US$3 billion investment in its retrofit programme. The airline has earmarked 191 aircraft for a full revamp, making it the largest known retrofit programme in the industry. More destinations served by the upgraded aircraft will be announced in the coming months.
Emirates currently operates refurbished A380 aircraft with Premium Economy to cities including NEW York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London Heathrow, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo, Tokyo Narita, Osaka and Dubai.
By February 2025, the airline aims to serve over 26 cities with Premium Economy, with the A350 entering the fleet in September 2024 and more refurbished A380s and Boeing 777s joining the service soon after.
Aircraft deployment dates may also be advanced is refurbishment is completed ahead of schedule.
