Finnair Helsinki Business Class Lounge Review

After flying in from Tallinn, we had a short transit in Helsinki Airport so popped into Finnair's non-Schengen area business class lounge.

The lounge is located just before Gate 50, Gate 50 is actually a small wing with a series of gates called 50A-M where most Finnair non-Schengen flights depart from. The lounge is conveniently located at the top of this wing, a short walk to any of the Gate 50 departure gates. Conveniently there is also a duty free store right next to the lounge, making it easy to pop out for any last minute purchases.

Inside the lounge is split over 2 levels with dining, communal lounges and work stations downstairs and individual recliners upstairs on the mezzanine.

A (rather small) kids playroom is also located on the ground floor.

The kids area, although small, included a play mat and a table for colouring.

Finnair Business Class Lounge Food & Beverage

The bar and food offering within the lounge is downstairs to the left of the entrance.

As far as premium business class lounges go these days, the food offering was a little low on options, with a small selection of salads and fruit along with a vegetable lasagne and one soup.

Although light on choice the food was delicious, especially soup, on this occasion Finland's specialty chowder style Salmon soup finished with dill.

A full bar is also available in the lounge with wine, beer, spirits and fresh juices available along with a cocktail of the day - Finnair's signature 'Blue Sky' sparkling wine with blueberry juice.

Overall the lounge was comfortable place to spend a couple of hours while in transit, albeit a little on the small size, filling up quickly, and with a limited food offering.

Access can also be bought for 48euros from the lounge reception however availability is limited.
