Qatar Qsuite A350 Business Class Review
Learn more about the award-winning Qatar Qsuites by reading our review!

Nat, one of our airfare consultants, recently experienced the Qatar Qsuite on her way to Doha. Flying out on Qatar's A350, flight number QR915, on the 21:40pm departure meant she could be on the direct Adelaide - Doha flight without the extra transit in Melbourne along the way [Qatar's way of getting extra flights ex-Melbourne by using a 'rural' hub as the departure/arrival point].

We’ve done previous reviews on the Qatar Qsuite 777 [an almost identical product], but thought another perspective would be useful! Qatar Airways Business Class leads the way for inflight comfort, being voted the Worlds Best Business Class in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024 by Skytrax for their prestigious Qsuites, along with the Best Business Class Airline Lounges award in 2021. If you’re travelling to Europe, we would highly recommend it!

Qatar QSuite Welcome

You know it's going to be a good flight when you're greeted with the question 'brut or rosé'? A hard choice between a Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve NV or Taittinger Prestige Rosé, and of course there was also the mention of non-alcoholic options, including Qatar's signature Lemon and Mint drink.

I was settled into seat 1K, champagne in hand and in my own private sanctuary. Take off was 20 minutes early, proving Qatar's efficiency and organisation. It would have also helped that the flight was only half full, an uncommon occurrence for the nighttime flights ex-Adelaide. This meant check-in and customs/immigration took a grand total of 10 minutes.

Qatar QSuite Seats and Cabin

A little more about seat 1K, the first seat on the port side of the aircraft in a rear-facing position. I was nervous about flying rear-facing, but learnt quite quickly that I actually, in fact, prefer it. Seeing the wings on take off and looking down on Adelaide's stunning night-time landscape was a treat for the eyes.

The great thing about the Qsuites is that the air hostesses will offer to make your bed. When I was ready for a sleep, a full turndown service had taken place and I was met with a fully flat bed, comfortable blanket and two pillow options.

The flight was fairly bumpy which meant the seatbelt sign was on for most of the flight and I did feel a small sense of claustrophobia in seat 1K. It came to my attention quite early, as it felt like the overhead bins were only over the window seats and none over the 'quad' middle seats. I did try to change my seat on the inbound flights to get a middle seat, but wasn't able to and learnt that it did depend on the particular plane we were on with how close it felt.

Qatar QSuite Dining and Beverages

Once at cruising altitude, my roast chicken breast with preserved lemon reduction, potato gratin, almond green beans and confit cherry tomatoes arrived at my table. The air hostess had taken my order before taking off and asked when I would like my meal to be served. Just like I had requested, it was served shortly after take off once at cruising altitude. It was served alongside a bread basket with an assortment of dipping oils/vinegars and a glass of sparkling water. For dessert I opted for the sour cherry clafoutis with vanilla bean ice cream- such a standout!Breakfast was a fruit platter with a selection of pastries and an OJ to wash it all down.

Qatar QSuite Entertainment and Amenity

Whilst having dinner, it was the perfect opportunity to explore the entertainment system. I did question on this flight why there were so few options, but found on further flights that you had to go to 'all movies' in a different menu to be able to see the full list, which was quite expansive. In the main menu, it just had a handful of new and old releases. The Fall Guy and IF were the two highlights for me.

My Diptyque amenities kit had an eye mast, socks and ear plugs for added comfort. If I'm going to be critical, the mattress topper could have been thicker and the seat belt was awkwardly in the middle of my legs when in a lying position.

Qatar QSuite Summary

As I am writing this, Qatar has had to swap out their plane type out of Adelaide to cater to a much-needed runway upgrade to the Adelaide Airport. What that means is that for the months of April and May, Qatar is operating their 777-200 with a 2-2-2 seat configuration with their 'Mini Pods' Business Class seat. The seat that gets absolutely no advertising from Qatar as it is...well, basic to say the least. Of course you'll still get the fabulous service that Qatar is known for, but sadly not the Qsuite [despite the premium cost of a Qatar ticket].

Overall, the service was impeccable, the meals were delicious and entertainment was great- despite the muddle up I had! Qatar Qsuites are always a winning product when it comes to flying to Europe. If you’re looking at flights, we’d suggest getting touch with one of our airfare specialists who can find you a deal!
