The inaugural Virgin Australia Sydney to Hong Kong flight took off at 10am this morning!
The new service further expands the airline’s network into Greater China, after launching flights from Melbourne to Hong Kong last year and creating a new partnership with Hong Kong Airlines and Hainan Airlines, with connecting flights from Hong Kong to mainland China.
The new flights from Sydney also connect with Virgin Atlantic’s service to London.
The Sydney – Hong Kong flight departs every day at 10am, arriving at 5:40pm and returns from Hong Kong at 7:50pm, arriving back in Sydney at 7:10am the following morning.
The airline’s service from Melbourne to Hong Kong currently departs Melbourne at 12:30am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving at 8:10am. From October 28th this service will increase to daily, departing at 11am every morning and arriving in Hong Kong at 5:40pm. The return flight will depart Hong Kong at 7:50pm, arriving back in Melbourne at 8:30am the next day.
Both services are operated by Virgin Australia’s A330 aircraft featuring ‘The Business’ with fully flat beds in business class.
